Murder Mum Pleads: “Don’t Blame Suspect’s Family” As Man Quizzed Over Daughter’s Death

Tearful mum Stacey White has made a heartbreaking plea to the public. Speaking out on social media last night, the Southampton mother begged people not to point fingers at the family of the arrested suspect as the murder investigation into her daughter Lucy’s death deepens.

Suspect Held As Police Hunt Crucial Clues

Stephen Nicholson, a 24-year-old care worker who was lodging at Stacey’s home in Mansel Road, remains in police custody. Detectives have been granted extra time to question him while the search continues for Lucy’s missing jacket and other clothing items.

Heartbreaking Tribute From Lucy’s Mum

Stacey, 30, shared a tearful tribute to her “bright, cheerful and much-loved” daughter on Facebook. She described Lucy as her “precious baby girl” and revealed the family’s struggle to cope with the tragedy: “We’re all trying to come to terms with it all slowly and just feel numb.” Stacey also reminded the public not to blame her own family during this painful time.

Ongoing Forensic Search and Witness Appeal

Forensics have spent two days combing through the area where the suspect lived with his mum. Lucy, a fan of rock music, was found partially clothed in a wooded spot in Southampton early Friday morning. The suspect is being questioned on suspicion of murder and sexual activity with a minor but has not been charged.

Police are urging anyone with information or who saw Lucy to come forward. She was last seen wearing a distinctive black jacket with white sleeves, featuring the band Falling in Reverse’s logo on the front and “RADKE 01” in red on the back.
