Luxury Car Theft Gang Busted and Jailed for Over £3.7 Million Haul
A ruthless gang behind the theft of more than 50 high-end cars worth over £3.7 million has finally been locked up for good.
The Masterminds Behind the Heist
Luke Jackson, 28, from Shoreham Close, Croydon; Billy Harrison, 30, of Coulsdon; Perry Lovejoy, 29, from Horley; and Harry Sales, 28, of Croydon, have all been sentenced after their slick car-jacking spree was uncovered.
High-Tech Theft Techniques Used
The gang exploited keyless car technology, using a ‘master device’ to intercept and mimic key signals, unlocking luxury vehicles undetected. Their target list included Range Rovers, Rolls Royce, Bentleys and more, hitting locations across the south-east of England.
Jail Time and Serious Charges
- All four pleaded guilty to conspiracy to steal and conspiracy to acquire criminal property.
- They were collectively sentenced to 12-and-a-half years behind bars.
- Jackson also admitted stealing an extra 42 cars valued at £2.1 million, pocketing even more time.
- Lovejoy received an additional sentence for supplying cannabis.
- Jackson’s total sentence includes 3.5 years for theft plus 18 months for burglary, served concurrently.
Police Crackdown Brings Gang to Justice
The sting came after Surrey Police’s Serious and Organised Crime Unit conducted a relentless probe. Using forensic evidence, CCTV, number plate recognition, and witness statements, officers pieced together the gang’s operations and shut them down.
“This gang’s actions caused massive financial damage. Their greed was blatant and they showed no care for the impact on victims,” said Detective Constable Matt Earl, lead investigator.
Victory Against Organised Crime
The successful conviction sends a clear message: law enforcement is cracking down hard on organised crime and ensuring justice for victims of these audacious, high-stakes vehicle thefts.
