Maidstone Man’s £6,000 Cocaine Deal Goes Up in Smoke
A local lad’s dodgy drug deal hit a brick wall when cops caught him red-handed stashing £6,000 worth of cocaine behind a tree outside his flat.
Caught Red-Handed Mid-Deal
Besar Cubaj, 28, was nabbed on 2 June 2025 in Bower Mount Road after police clocked a suspicious car. Cubaj slid into the backseat to seal a drug deal – but officers pounced and arrested him on the spot.
He was found with 52 wraps of cocaine, including 11 cunningly hidden among the branches, plus £200 cash, a phone, and a mysterious small key.
Secret Stash and Shady Flat
The tiny key unlocked the door to a nearby flat. Cubaj first claimed he didn’t live there, but later admitted selling drugs out of desperation after failing to find proper accommodation.
He handed over his stash of cocaine, nearly £2,000 in dirty cash, and even led cops to a second cache hidden behind a tree. Talk about desperate hides!
Nearly Three Years Behind Bars
On 14 November 2025, Maidstone Crown Court sentenced Cubaj to 2 years and 9 months for possession with intent to supply cocaine and possession of criminal property.
“Cubaj turned to selling drugs as a means to fund his lifestyle, with little thought to the consequences,” said PC Callum Tuckett.
“Drug dealers prey on users’ addictions, often funding organised crime. Users also commit petty crimes to support their habits, adding to community problems.”
“We’re pleased Cubaj will be off the streets and unable to exploit vulnerable people for a good while.”
