Shoplifters Nabbed After Dozens of Thefts in Westgate-on-Sea

A pair have been hit with 22 charges after allegedly targeting the same shop in Westgate-on-Sea time and again.

Police Recognise Repeat Offenders

Jordan Best, 35, and Faye Butterfield, 38, were arrested in the early hours of Saturday 11 December 2021 by Kent Police. Officers recognised them as suspects linked to multiple theft reports from the same Station Road store.

£300+ Worth of Alcohol and Groceries Stolen

Investigations revealed that between 16 November and 10 December, the duo committed 10 counts of theft each from the shop. The stolen haul includes alcohol and various groceries racking up to over £300.

Extra Charges for Assault and Additional Shoplifting

  • Best faced an extra shoplifting charge from an incident on 9 December at the same shop.
  • Butterfield was also charged with assaulting an emergency services worker after allegedly kicking a police officer in the leg during her arrest.

Both have been remanded in custody and are due to appear at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Monday 13 December.
