Kent’s Prison Crime Investigation Team, operating from Sittingbourne, battles crime across all seven county prisons. Already in 2024, they’ve secured over 94 years of prison time plus a life sentence against offenders.
Detective Inspector Scott Machin said: “Criminal activity behind bars doesn’t just affect those inside – it fuels violence and extends criminal networks threatening our communities.”
“By stopping drug smuggling into prisons, we strike at organised crime’s core and help keep our streets safer.”
“We have an excellent relationship with local prisons and share a strong commitment to protecting the public.”
