Driver Busted with Knife and Drugs in Tunbridge Wells Sting
A motorist has been charged after police seized a weapon and drugs during a crackdown on knife crime in Tunbridge Wells.
Operation Sceptre Targets Knife Crime Nationwide
Kent Police joined a national week-long blitz from 9 to 15 November 2020, aimed at tackling knife crime. The operation, called Sceptre, sees forces across the UK step up efforts to cut down violent crime on the streets.
Suspicious Stop Uncovers Drugs and Knife
On Monday 9 November, Tunbridge Wells Community Police stopped a suspicious car on North Farm Road. A search under the Misuse of Drugs Act revealed a knife, plus sizeable amounts of cannabis and cocaine.
Further checks in custody uncovered even more drugs hidden in the suspect’s underwear.
Man Charged and Remanded
Nicolita Andrei Mihai, 28, from Grange Road, Tunbridge Wells, was charged with possession of a knife in public, possession of cocaine with intent to supply, and possession of cannabis. He was remanded to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 10 November.
