Maidstone Man Busted After High-Speed Chase in Gillingham
Kent Police have charged 33-year-old Mark Clements with a staggering 10 offences after a wild car chase in Chatham on Saturday, 4 August.
Stolen Car Sparks Police Pursuit
Clements, from Fairmeadow in Maidstone, was spotted driving a stolen vehicle along Richmond Road, Gillingham. When police tried to stop him, he sped off, triggering a dangerous chase.
Serious Charges Stacked Against Clements
After he was finally caught, Clements was arrested on suspicion of theft and dangerous driving. He now faces a battery of charges, including:
- Two counts of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent
- Dangerous driving
- Three counts of criminal damage to property
- Failing to stop when requested by a constable
- Refusing to provide a specimen for analysis
- Driving without a licence
- Driving without insurance
Remanded in Custody
Mark Clements has been remanded in custody. He is set to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 6 August 2018.
