Southampton Man Busted for Spreading ISIS Terror Content Online

A 29-year-old from Southampton has been arrested and charged over allegations of pushing terrorist propaganda on social media. Abdullah Bellil faces serious terrorism-related charges after a probe by the Metropolitan Police’s Counter Terrorism Command.

Charges: Spreading Terrorist Material & Backing ISIS

  • Bellil is charged with three counts of distributing terrorist publications on social media, violating the Terrorism Act 2006.
  • He also faces one count of expressing support for ISIS, a proscribed terrorist organisation, under the Terrorism Act 2000.

The offences allegedly took place between July 2023 and October 2024.

Next Stop: Westminster Magistrates’ Court

Bellil was arrested at his home on Wednesday, December 18, and is set to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday, December 20.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson urged the public to stay alert for extremist activity and praised ongoing efforts to tackle terrorism. Anyone with concerns is urged to call the Anti-Terrorist Hotline on 0800 789 321.
