Firefighters Race to Blaze at Derelict Building in Gravesend

A derelict building in Northfleet, Gravesend went up in flames on Sunday evening, sparking a swift emergency response.

Five Engines and Height Vehicle Tackle Fire

Kent Fire and Rescue Service, backed by London Fire Brigade, dashed to the High Street location just after 5pm. Five fire engines and a height vehicle arrived fast to battle the blaze.

Over an Hour Fighting Flames – No Injuries

Crews in breathing apparatus used main jets to fight the fire for more than an hour, finally bringing it under control by 6:45pm. Luckily, no injuries were reported.

Cause Unknown, Police Investigate

Kent Police also arrived on scene to support the emergency services. The fire’s cause remains a mystery as investigations continue. Meanwhile, the derelict site is cordoned off for safety checks.
