Kent Fire and Rescue confirmed they deployed two fire engines and a water safety unit to assist police. A spokesperson said:

We were called at 1.47 pm today to assist Kent Police in the Brooklands Lake area of Dartford, off Princes Road, due to concerns for a man’s welfare.

Kent Police added:

“Police were called at around 1.40 pm on 1, January 10, 2024, due to concern for a man in the Brooklands Lake area of Dartford. Officers are currently in attendance.”
