Two Teens Killed in Horror A30 Crash – Police Race for Witnesses
Tragedy struck Basingstoke early Wednesday as two 18-year-olds died in a smashed-up white Fiat 500 on the A30. The horrific crash happened just after 5am near the Hatch pub when the car careered into trees.
Fatal smash shocks early commuters
Police were alerted shortly before 5am by a passerby who spotted the crashed car on the eastbound carriageway. Both the driver and her passenger were declared dead at the scene.
Their families have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers as investigators scramble to piece together what went wrong.
Police hunting crucial dashcam footage
Sgt Andy Noble, from the Joint Roads Policing Unit, urged drivers who were traveling eastbound on the A30 from 9.50pm Tuesday night until 5am Wednesday to come forward.
“We don’t yet know exactly when the crash happened. Anyone with dashcam footage in that timeframe could really help us narrow down the timeline,” Sgt Noble said.
Witnesses who saw the white Fiat 500 or any suspicious activity on the road during that period are also asked to speak up.
