Man Charged with Murder After Gosport Stabbing
Police have arrested and charged a man following the deadly stabbing of a 53-year-old in Gosport.
Fatal Stabbing on Harwood Road
Officers were called to a Harwood Road house at 3:15pm on February 1 after reports of a man suffering a stab wound. Despite rapid response from police and South Central Ambulance Service, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Suspect Named and Charged
Mark Oliver, 55, who also lives on Harwood Road, has been charged with murder. He appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court on February 4 and has been remanded in custody.
Family Support Confirmed
The victim’s next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers as the investigation continues.
