A man is set to appear in court charged with murder following a deadly blaze that claimed two lives in Walthamstow.
Tragic Fire Shakes Walthamstow
Emergency services were called to a residential property on Forest Road, E17, at 10:24pm on Sunday, 21 April 2024, after reports of a fire. Police and the London Fire Brigade rushed to the scene, only to discover two men dead inside. The victims have been identified as 24-year-old Mohammed Djellal and 35-year-old Faouzi Bouchadoe. Murder Probe Launched
The Met’s Specialist Crime Command immediately launched a murder investigation. On 10 August 2025, the Crown Prosecution Service charged Fouad Boudra, 25, with murder. An international arrest warrant was issued on 27 August 2025. Boudra was arrested in France on 26 January 2026 and extradited to the UK on 2 April 2026.
Multiple Serious Charges
Boudra, who has no fixed address, will appear at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 4 April. He faces several charges:
- Two counts of murder
- Two counts of manslaughter
- Causing grievous bodily harm with intent to a third man
- Arson with intent to endanger life
