21-Year-Old Arrested Over Deonte Mowatt-Slater’s Death

A 21-year-old man from Warrender Road, N19, has been charged with murder after the fatal stabbing of Deonte Mowatt-Slater in Islington. Francie McCarthy is set to appear in custody at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 26 October.

Tragic Incident Unfolded on Courtauld Road

The investigation began shortly after midnight on Tuesday, 22 October, when emergency services found Deonte critically injured on Courtauld Road, N19. Despite efforts to save him, he died from stab wounds, confirmed by a post-mortem on Friday.

Police Appeal for Witnesses as Area Boosts Patrols

Detective Chief Inspector Neil John led the probe and extended condolences to Deonte’s family, who are being supported by specially trained police officers. “Our thoughts remain with Deonte’s family at this extremely difficult time,” he said.

He urged anyone with information or dash-cam footage to come forward. Police have increased patrols in the area to reassure local residents and are available to address concerns.
