Man Charged with Murder of Missing Blackpool Man Eddie Forrester

Detectives have charged a 65-year-old man with the murder of missing Blackpool resident Edward “Eddie” Forrester. The 55-year-old was last seen on September 1 at 1.31pm on Seafield Road and reported missing the next day.

William Wilkinson Held and Charged

Following extensive enquiries, William Wilkinson, 65, also from Seafield Road, was arrested on suspicion of murder on Monday. After consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, he has now been formally charged with Eddie’s murder.

Wilkinson was remanded in custody and appeared before Preston Magistrates’ Court on Saturday morning.

Family Receive Support Amid Ongoing Investigation

Eddie’s family has been informed and is receiving support from specially trained officers during this difficult time.

Police Seek Help Over Peugeot Van Linked to Case

Officers are urging the public to come forward with information relating to a white Peugeot Boxer van, registration KX09 XPA. The vehicle was seen across Blackpool, Lytham St Annes, and Cumbria—including Kendal and Windermere—between 6am on Saturday, September 2, and 1am Monday, September 4. The van has since been recovered by the police.

“This is a fast-moving investigation, and the fact that a man has now been charged with murder is a significant development,” said Detective Chief Inspector Mark Haworth-Oates, head of the Major Investigation Team.

“Eddie’s family have been made aware, and my thoughts are with them at this distressing time. We believe he has sadly come to harm.”

“Please check any CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage for the Peugeot Boxer van during those dates. Any information could be vital.”
