Joel Ellis, 35, from Kingard Walk, N7, faces murder and arson charges over the death of his mother, Beatrice Yankson.
The tragedy unfolded on 26 October when police and firefighters rushed to a burning flat on Mingard Walk after a 12:41pm emergency call.
Victim Dies in Flat Fire
Inside, 59-year-old Beatrice Yankson was found dead. A post-mortem on 29 October confirmed she died from burns and smoke inhalation.
Joel Ellis to Appear in Court
Joel Ellis was arrested at the scene and charged with murder and arson with intent to endanger life.
He is due to appear in custody at Thames Magistrates’ Court on 11 December.
