Man Charged with Murder of Rotherfield Woman Nelly Myers
Sussex Police have charged a man with the brutal murder of 58-year-old Nelly Myers. Her body was found last Thursday at her Rotherfield home.
Jayesh Gobar in Court Over Shocking Killing
Jayesh Gobar, 35, from Crawley, was charged with murder and appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court today. He is set to appear again at Lewes Crown Court on Tuesday, 24 December.
Forensics Sweep £500K Home
Officers continue a thorough forensic examination at the £500,000 property on Court Meadow Close, Rotherfield. The investigation began on Wednesday evening, 18 December, after concerns for the woman’s welfare led police to the scene.
Police Urge Public to Come Forward
Detectives are appealing for dash cam footage from Tuesday, 17 December 2019, to aid their inquiry. Meanwhile, a second man, 37, also from Crawley, was arrested but has since been released without charge.
“A man has been charged with the murder of a woman in Rotherfield,” said a Sussex Police spokesman. “Jayesh Gobar appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court charged with murder and will next appear at Lewes Crown Court.”
