Masked Gang’s £10k Raid Crushed as Burglar Gets Jail Time
Antony Agnew, 26, from Alder Road, Southampton, has been locked up for over three years after being caught red-handed in a high-value burglary spree.
£10,000 Heist in Winchester
On 4 January, Agnew teamed up with three masked accomplices to smash their way into a Winchester home on Dean Lane. They made off with a haul of watches, jewellery, and clothing worth a whopping £10,000.
Part of Wider Burglary Spree in Hampshire
This wasn’t a one-off. Police say Agnew was involved in a string of costly break-ins across west and north Hampshire throughout January.
After pleading guilty on 17 May, he was sentenced on 25 May at Portsmouth Crown Court to three years and one month behind bars.
Police Hunt for More Crooks
Detective Sergeant Will Whale from Operation Hawk revealed:
“Identifying Agnew has dealt a blow to a major criminal gang responsible for several high-value burglaries. The victims were deeply distressed, forced to watch their homes being trashed. Their bravery in supporting this tough investigation—especially by sharing CCTV footage publicly—has been crucial.We believe the harrowing footage will encourage witnesses to come forward and help us identify the other gang members.”
