Knife-Wielding Maniac Jailed After Battersea Terror Rampage
A violent manhunt ended in jail after Ibrahim Ajbeer, 30, went on a terrifying stabbing spree in Battersea. The Preston man was locked up for six years and ten months at Kingston Crown Court on Monday, July 19.
Chilling Attack Sparks Community Fear
On the evening of October 11, 2020, Ajbeer stormed a shop on Battersea Park Road, grabbed a knife from behind the counter, and threatened staff. Not content, he brazenly stole a bottle of vodka from a nearby supermarket while armed.
He then targeted a woman on the street – grabbing her, tearing her clothes, and holding the knife over her as she lay terrified on the ground. Members of the public chased him off, but the crazed attack spree wasn’t over.
Public Showdown Ends Rampage
- Ajbeer smashed a car window on Falcon Road with his knife.
- He threatened two women outside a local pub, even pinning one to the floor.
- He attempted another stabbing before brave bystanders stopped him.
Police arrived quickly and arrested the offender.
Investigator Praises Public Heroism
“Ajbeer carried out a string of violent, unprovoked attacks that shook the local community,” said Detective Constable Emily Dawson.
“He went out looking to harm people, but thanks to the bravery of members of the public who restrained him, a worse tragedy was avoided.
“He will now serve a significant prison term. We hope this verdict brings justice and peace to those affected. The Met remains committed to cracking down on violent crime and keeping our streets safe.”
