Rapist Dane Oldham Gets Six Years for Horrific Attack

Dane Oldham, 33, has been locked up for six years after being convicted of raping a woman in Glossop. The victim, who remains anonymous, was left with traumatic memories and battling severe post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) following the assault.

Attack in Early Hours Leaves Victim Traumatised

The chilling attack took place in the early hours at a Glossop address. The victim showed immense courage by reporting the crime to police soon after it happened.

In her victim impact statement, she revealed the devastating toll the rape has taken on her life:

“This [event] has caused physical reactions during sleep. Depression and anxiety have become constant companions. I feel worthless and guilty, hating myself for what happened. Trusting people and maintaining relationships has been a struggle.”

Oldham Switched Plea, Now Serving Sentence

Originally denying the charges, Oldham changed his plea to guilty on the first day of trial. He was sentenced to six years behind bars and issued a 12-year restraining order, banning him from contacting the victim.
