Ex-Cop Raped Woman On Duty: Former Thames Valley Officer Found Guilty

Convicted at Salisbury Crown Court

Nicholas Peel, 55, a former Thames Valley Police constable, has been found guilty of repeatedly raping a woman in Wiltshire while on active duty. The attacks happened between 2015 and 2020. On 2 March, Peel was convicted on four counts of rape and one count of attempted rape at Salisbury Crown Court. He faces sentencing on 13 April.

The disgraced ex-officer once lived near Marlborough but now lives in Kent.

Misconduct Investigation Led to Retirement

Peel quit Thames Valley Police in December 2024 amid a gross misconduct probe. A disciplinary hearing in March 2025 found he abused police communication and IT systems.

  • Illegally listened in on other police forces’ channels via his radio.
  • Improperly accessed and tampered with police system records.
  • Used hundreds of gigabytes of work phone data while on sick leave, far beyond limits.

The panel declared Peel would have been fired if he hadn’t retired first.
