Predator Nathan Graham locked up for three years over sick online child sex offences

Graham tried to meet 13-year-old for sex

Nathan Graham, 29, from Gloucester, has been jailed for three years and three months after pleading guilty to a string of horrific child sex crimes. The Swindon Crown Court heard he attempted to meet a 13-year-old girl for sex, sent explicit images, and arranged to facilitate sexual activity with her.

The offences happened on December 5 and 6 last year. Graham contacted the girl via social media, sending graphic sexual images of himself and giving detailed bus routes and stop directions — all to set up their meeting.

Snared by police before meeting

Despite falsely claiming he was 18 to hide his real age, officers arrested Graham on December 7 in Bloomsbury Park, Freshbrook, Swindon, as he was on his way to meet the girl. Along with the child sex offences, he was found to be carrying bladed weapons in public.

He was charged and remanded into custody. His sentence also includes indefinite registration on the sex offenders’ register plus a 15-year sexual harm prevention order.

Police praise joint investigation and warn parents

The probe was a joint effort by Wiltshire Police and the South West Regional Organised Crime Unit (SWROCU). Detective Constable Sarah Greenman from Wiltshire Police’s Child Internet Exploitation Team stressed the importance of protecting children online and bringing predators to justice.

“Partnerships like ours with SWROCU are crucial to identify and prosecute offenders to keep the public safe,” DC Greenman said.

Detective Inspector David Wells of SWROCU’s Online Investigations Team called the conviction a “major win” in their fight to shield children and communities from harm.

Help and advice for families

Experts urge parents and carers to stay vigilant online. The NSPCC provides comprehensive safety guidance, while support organisations like the Lucy Faithfull Foundation offer help for anyone worried about their own or someone else’s online behaviour.

Nathan Graham’s sentencing sends a clear message: UK police are determined to crack down on online child exploitation and protect society’s most vulnerable.
