Police Hunt Man After Shocking Rape in Maidenhead Park
Police are urgently appealing for information after a man was raped in Grenfell Park, Maidenhead, in the early hours of today (June 1).
Distressed Victim Found at 3.33am
A member of the public discovered the victim, a man in his twenties, visibly upset in the park at 3.33am. The victim revealed he was raped near the basketball court in Grenfell Park.
Attack Linked to Local Bar Encounter
Detective Chief Inspector Penny Mackenzie revealed the victim had been at Gordon’s Bar on Queen Street the previous night. “The victim met a man at the bar before leaving together and walking through Grenfell Park,” she said.
The attack took place shortly after. The suspect may have also stolen the victim’s phone.
Police Seek Key Witness
“The man met at the bar may not be the attacker, but could hold vital information,” said DCI Mackenzie.
- White male, around 5ft 8ins
- Short brown hair, early twenties
- Wearing T-shirt and Nike trainers
- Did not speak English, possibly Romanian
