A neighbour, speaking anonymously, revealed officers forced their way into the half-million-pound property on Court Meadow Close late Wednesday (18 December). They were called over welfare concerns for the woman inside.
Woman in Her 50s Found Dead – Man Arrested
Tragically, the body of a woman in her 50s was discovered inside. A 35-year-old Crawley man was arrested on suspicion of murder the following afternoon (19 December). He remains in custody as the investigation heats up.
Detective Urges Locals to Come Forward
“This is a fast-moving and complex investigation with many lines of enquiry,” said Det Ch Insp Alex Geldart of Sussex Police. “We’ve already spoken to numerous local residents but urge anyone who saw or heard anything unusual to get in touch.”
He added police would maintain an enhanced presence in the area “for the foreseeable time.”
