19-Year-Old Fatally Stabbed in Broad Daylight in Harrow
A murder probe is underway in Harrow after a 19-year-old man was stabbed to death on Masefield Avenue, Stanmore. Police rushed to the scene at 4:50pm on Monday, September 4, responding alongside the London Ambulance Service.
Victim Identified as Anis Omar Zen
Despite fast medical help, Anis Omar Zen, a Harrow resident, was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed and are receiving specialist support during this heartbreaking time.
A post-mortem to pinpoint the exact cause of death is set for Thursday, September 7.
Detectives Launch Full Investigation
Specialist Crime Command detectives, backed by the Northwest Basic Command Unit, are leading the inquiry. Detective Chief Inspector Laurence Smith has urged witnesses to come forward.
“This murder happened in broad daylight, and I’m certain that it would have been witnessed by people who are yet to speak with officers,” said DCI Smith. He asked locals to check for any video doorbell or dash-cam footage that could help crack the case.
Man Arrested and Released on Bail
A 19-year-old man was arrested near the scene on suspicion of murder but has since been released on bail while inquiries continue. The motive remains unknown as detectives work to identify and catch the killer.
