Hate-Pod Pair Jailed for Terrorist Rants
Two men behind a hate-filled podcast have been locked up for stirring up terror and promoting vile hatred. Christopher Gibbons, 40, from Carshalton, and Tyrone Patten-Walsh, 36, from Romford, used their online platform to spew racism, homophobia, antisemitism, Islamophobia, and misogyny.
Podcast Full of Poison and Terror Calls
The pair’s podcast wasn’t just hateful—it openly urged listeners to commit acts of terrorism. Their twisted ideology praised the murder of Labour MP Jo Cox in 2016. They also glorified mass killer Brenton Tarrant, who slaughtered 51 worshippers at New Zealand mosques in 2019. On top of this, they spat hateful abuse at victims of the 2017 Manchester Arena bomb attack.
Shocking Far-Right Library Uncovered
Police found a chilling online library linked to Gibbons packed with hundreds of extreme right-wing texts and over 500 videos pushing hate speeches and propaganda. Nearly 1,000 subscribers viewed the content more than 152,000 times.
Their account posted 23 lengthy podcasts, featuring crude images and music, to 128 subscribers. Their messages weren’t just words—they stoked violent hatred aimed at ethnic minorities.
Sentenced to Jail with Long Licence Terms
On January 4, Kingston Crown Court handed down tough sentences. Patten-Walsh got seven years in prison, while Gibbons received eight. Both are slapped with a 15-year Part 4 notification order and will serve three years on licence after release. These measures aim to curb their dangerous influence.
Commander Dominic Murphy, leading the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command, said: “Sharing terrorist material can draw vulnerable people, especially young ones, into extremism. Officers sifted through vast amounts of content to build a strong case. We hope this sentencing sends a powerful message: promoting terrorism has severe consequences.”
