Teen Thieves Nab Phone from Pensioner in Shocking Ashford Robbery

Police are hunting witnesses after a robbery on Ashford High Street left a man in his 70s robbed and shaken but unhurt.

Bloke in His 70s Shoved & Phone Swiped

The pensioner was strolling near the North Street junction at around 4.20pm on Sunday, July 3, 2022, when he got shoved from behind. The shove was quick and cruel — his phone was snatched in a flash. Luckily, he escaped without a scratch.

Two Teenagers Busted

  • Kent Police swooped and arrested two lads: a 17-year-old from Ashford and a 16-year-old from Basildon, Essex.
  • They’re suspected of robbery and carrying a bladed weapon.
  • Both have been bailed while the investigation carries on.

Police Want Witnesses to Speak Up

Detectives are urging anyone who saw what happened to come forward and help nail the culprits.
