Escaped Robbery Suspect on the Loose in Poole

Dorset Police are hunting 32-year-old Kyle Darren Eglington after he made a daring escape from a court prisoner transport van on Hardy Road, Poole. The suspect reportedly assaulted security officers before making his getaway at 11.13am on Saturday 26 March 2022.

Manhunt Underway with Helicopter Support

Officers are conducting thorough searches across the area, backed by the NPAS helicopter and British Transport Police. Superintendent Heather Dixey reassured the public that a strong police presence remains as they hunt the fugitive.

Robbery Charge and Shocking Escape Details

  • Eglington was in custody over a robbery charge linked to an incident on Verney Close, Bournemouth on 24 March.
  • He appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court the day before his escape.
  • The 5ft 11in, medium-build white male has dark brown hair and a beard.
  • Strikingly, he fled wearing only his underwear and socks.

Police Urge Public Not to Approach Suspect

“There is nothing at this time to suggest he poses a risk to the general public. However, people should not approach him and must call 999 immediately if they see him,” said Superintendent Dixey.
