Man Charged After St Helens Knife and Bottle Incident

At around 9.20pm, police were alerted to a man carrying weapons on Parr Mount Street, believed to be a bottle and a knife. Officers quickly searched the area and spotted the suspect near The Mount Church on Traverse Street.

Armed Suspect Detained After Violent Standoff

The 33-year-old man was reportedly aggressive and still armed when officers confronted him. They managed to disarm and detain him. One officer suffered a minor injury during the arrest, but no members of the public were harmed.

Serious Charges for Thomas McComish

  • Attempted murder
  • Attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent
  • Possession of a bladed article in public
  • Possession of offensive weapon in public

Thomas McComish, from Morgan Street, St Helens, has been charged and is set to appear at Wirral Adult Remand Court today, Thursday 8 December.
