Dog Attack Knocks Boy Off Bike in Dorset Park
A six-year-old boy was knocked off his bike by a dog in Grove Field, off Incline Road, Dorset, on Friday afternoon, February 5, 2021.
Scruffy Dog Causes Chaos
At around 3.30pm, a woman was walking with her two young sons when a scruffy, light brown dog – knee height – she had seen before suddenly jumped at her and then charged at her son riding his bike.
The boy fell off, suffering minor injuries and his bike was damaged.
Dog Owner Offers Money but Vanishes Without Details
The dog’s owner, described as a woman in her 50s or 60s, about 5’5” tall, medium build with short hair, approached on a mobility scooter. She offered money to the boy but the mother did not get her contact details. When off the scooter, she used a stick to walk and carried a Nerf gun-style ball thrower.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
“We have now obtained a full account from the mother,” said Police Constable Jennie Sykes-Martin of Dorset Police. “I am keen to speak to the owner of the dog involved so we can take her account.”
She added: “I would urge her, or anyone with information on her identity, to come forward.”
The police are also seeking a jogger in a pink fluorescent jacket who was nearby at the time and may have witnessed the incident.
