Young Predator Jack Davey Locked Up for Over Three Years
A 21-year-old man from Meopham, Kent, has been slammed with three years and four months behind bars after admitting to over 30 horrific child sex offences. Jack Davey used fake profiles and video calls to groom girls online, coercing them into performing sexual acts on camera.
Devious Abuse and Threats
- Davey tricked victims with false identities and recorded indecent footage without consent.
- He threatened to leak the images to cause further trauma.
- Offences include grooming, inciting children to engage in sexual activity, and possessing/distributing indecent images.
- He even arranged to meet a child after online grooming.
Davey was sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday, 9 May 2025. Under an extended sentence, he must serve at least two-thirds of his sentence before parole, followed by two years on licence. A 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and lifetime placement on the sex offender register were also imposed.
How Police Caught Him
Kent Police arrested Davey at his Meopham home in May 2022 after a report surfaced about his grooming of a 13-year-old girl—an abuse that began when he was just 17, lying about his age to trap victims.
Investigators uncovered damning evidence. Davey had communicated with multiple underage girls across Kent and wider UK, saving explicit videos and images on his devices. His crimes included offences committed as recently as January 2024, such as grooming a 14-year-old and breaching a previous SHPO.
Police Praise Victims’ Bravery
Detective Constables Mel Ling and Hayley Hudson-Gool led the investigation and praised the courage of the victims who spoke out.
“His actions have had a damaging impact on their confidence and ability to trust other people,” said DC Ling.
“If any young person is in a similar situation, we urge them to speak to someone they trust and report it. Do not delete any messages—these can be vital in catching offenders.”
