69-Year-Old Paedophile Lockup After Sick Teen Sex Abuse
Larry Roberts, 69, from Lincolnshire, has been jailed for sexually abusing two teenage girls aged just 13 to 15. The vile offences took place between 2004 and 2010.
Roberts was found guilty of six counts, including sexual assault and masturbating in front of children for gratification. He denied all charges but a unanimous jury at Lincoln Crown Court convicted him.
Victims Speak Out About Life-Shattering Trauma
The victims told the court how Roberts’ abuse has haunted them for years. Both women revealed ongoing mental health battles caused by the ordeal.
Roberts was slammed with an eight-and-a-half year prison sentence. He’s also been placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life and hit with an indefinite restraining order. He’s banned from working with children or vulnerable adults forever.
Police Praise Victims’ Bravery in Speaking Up
“The complainants have lived with the impact of these events throughout their adult lives. Their resilience and determination helped them find the courage to come forward and be heard,” said Detective Constable Sarah Oliver from the Protecting Vulnerable People Unit.
“I want to reassure anyone hesitant about reporting historic abuse: time does not diminish your right to justice. Victims will be listened to, believed, and fully supported.”
This case sends a clear message: no matter how long ago the abuse, victims must speak out and be heard.
