Shocking Assault in Eastbourne Alley: Police Hunt Witnesses
Young Woman Attacked
Eastbourne cops are on the lookout for witnesses after a brutal assault on an 18-year-old woman. The attack happened late on Sunday, January 15, in an alleyway off Lushington Lane.
The victim suffered head and nose injuries in the shocking incident.
Suspect Arrested but Out on Bail
Following a swift investigation, officers arrested a 19-year-old man from Eastbourne. He faces multiple charges including assault causing actual bodily harm (ABH), intentional strangulation, and possession of cannabis – a class B drug.
The suspect was released on strict bail conditions until April 16.
Help Police Catch the Culprits
Detective Wendy Murray urges anyone who saw the attack or has CCTV footage to come forward.
“A woman nearby helped the victim onto a bus home. Two men also stopped to assist after hearing the commotion. We need them and anyone else with info to contact us,” Murray said.
