Motorbike Horror in Sussex: Woman Seriously Hurt as Tree Branch Crashes Down
Sussex Police are hunting for witnesses after a 27-year-old woman suffered serious injuries in a shocking motorbike crash triggered by a falling tree branch in Crawley Down.
Crash at Turners Hill Shakes Local Area
The terrifying incident unfolded around 10:50am on Friday, 18 April, on Barns Court, just off Turners Hill Road. According to officers, the motorcyclist lost control when a large tree branch suddenly smashed onto her and the bike, causing a serious collision.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene. The rider was swiftly taken to hospital and remains under medical care. Her condition is currently undisclosed.

Sussex Police are desperate to piece together exactly what happened. They’re urging anyone who witnessed the crash or recorded it on dashcam or helmet cam to step forward.
“We are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the incident or has relevant footage from the area around the time of the collision. This includes any information about the condition of the tree or the road leading up to the crash,” a Sussex Police spokesperson said.
The investigation will also explore whether weather or other environmental conditions played a part in the branch falling.
