Woman Assaulted in Eastbourne Late at Night – Police Seek Witnesses
Attack Spreads Through Old Town Streets
A woman was assaulted in Eastbourne between 10.30pm and 11.30pm on Tuesday, October 25. The troubling incident started after she left The Star Inn near Upperton Road, walking towards the town centre.
Police report that the attack continued through The Goffs all the way to Hartfield Road.
Bystanders Step In – Suspected Taxi Driver Also Injured
At least two members of the public stopped their cars to offer help to the victim. Officers believe one of these Good Samaritans may have been a taxi driver who was also potentially assaulted during the incident.
Man Arrested and Released on Bail
A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He is currently on bail pending further investigation.
