Manhunt Underway After Mental Health Patient Flees Uxbridge Road Newsagent
Police are scrambling to find Mosa Jamal Abid, 26, who bolted from escorted leave at a newsagent on Uxbridge Road around 3pm on Monday, 10 April. He’s believed to have headed east along Uxbridge Road before possibly slipping into Brent Lodge Park.
Urgent Search and CCTV Blitz Underway
Despite extensive searches and CCTV reviews, Mosa remains missing. Officers are combing Brent Lodge Park and the surrounding area, piecing together CCTV footage to track his movements.
They’ve also alerted transport agencies to help spot him on networks beyond the local zone. Detective Inspector Alistair Stillgoe said:
“I understand the longer Mosa stays missing, the more concerned the public will be. We’re deploying every available resource, including specialist officers, to find him. “We’ve had some calls from the public, particularly from the Hanwell area. Mosa might be sleeping rough, so if you see someone matching his description, please don’t approach. Call us immediately.”
Family Plea: Come Home Safely
Mosa’s family have made a heartfelt appeal. They said:
“Mosa – if you are reading this, please do the right thing and return to hospital to get the care and support you need. “Every day we don’t know that you are safe and well is heartbreaking for us.”
Warning: Mosa Can Be Dangerous
Mosa was convicted of manslaughter in 2018 and sentenced under the Mental Health Act. He can be violent and must not be approached by the public.
He requires medication for an ongoing health condition and might seek hospital help or visit local mosques during Iftar for food or drink. Police are liaising with hospitals and mosques to keep them in the loop.

- He was last seen wearing a navy hooded jacket, black trousers, and blue trainers.
- If you see him, do NOT approach.
