Missing Mum Lisa Brown: Former Boyfriend on the Run Again

Scots mum Lisa Brown vanished without a trace on Wednesday, 4 November 2015, from her home in Guadiaro, San Roque, Spain. She left behind her eight-year-old son, sparking alarm weeks later when she failed to pick him up from school.

Violent Scene and Police Investigation

When Spanish police finally entered Lisa’s apartment four days later, signs of a violent struggle were evident. Lisa’s former boyfriend, Simon Corner—who also uses the name Dean Woods—was interviewed by authorities and soon fled the country.

  • Woods, a luxury yacht dealer, was caught in Denmark in April 2016 and extradited back to Spain.
  • He was jailed but later released on bail.
  • After breaking bail at the end of 2017, a European Arrest Warrant was issued.
  • He was arrested at Heathrow a month later, but shockingly, the case was dropped due to lack of evidence.

Case Reopened Then Closed Again

Lisa’s family briefly got their hopes up in October 2018 when news came that the case against Woods might be revived. But those hopes were crushed when lawyers said he wouldn’t face prosecution over her disappearance.

Instead, Woods was locked up for 12 years for his role in a €10 million drug ring.

Woods Escapes From Day Release, Family Furious

Most recently, Woods failed to return from day release at an open prison on 19 November, where he’s serving his sentence.

Described as 5ft 11in, medium build, with short brown hair, brown eyes, and a liverpool/" title="Liverpool" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Liverpool accent, Woods is now on the run again.

“What are they doing giving him day release when he was sentenced to 12 years two years ago?” said Lisa’s mum, Helen. “He should never have been allowed out, especially with his history of fake IDs and passports. It’s a joke of a justice system.”
