Man in 30s held over double shooting in Carnforth

A man in his 30s was arrested this morning after police stopped a vehicle on Hunter Street, Carnforth, Lancashire, at around 11.30am on 1 October.

Suspect in custody after double murder discovery

The suspect is now being taken to custody for questioning over the shooting of two men found dead in a car off Moor Street yesterday afternoon.

The bodies of the victims, believed to be in their late 20s or early 30s and still unidentified, were discovered at about 3.30pm on 30 September. Police say the men were likely killed shortly after 1pm at a nearby industrial estate.

Scene sealed as forensic teams search for clues

Authorities have sealed off the murder site while forensic teams comb the scene for evidence. A post mortem is scheduled for tomorrow to establish the exact cause of death.

Police urge public to come forward

“This is a fast-moving investigation,” said Detective Chief Inspector Jim Munro from the Homicide Unit. “Our officers have been working around the clock since the bodies were found to track down the person we believe responsible. The arrest is a major step, but our enquiries continue.”

“We appeal to anyone who was in the area and saw or heard anything suspicious to contact us immediately.”
