Baby Dies in Rossington, Two Women Arrested on Murder Suspicion

Tragedy struck Norman Crescent, Rossington, on Thursday afternoon when police and ambulance crews responded to an emergency at 12.15pm. A baby was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Two Women Held Over Baby’s Death

Two women, aged 17 and 45, have been arrested on suspicion of murder. They remain in police custody as the investigation gets underway.

Police Appeal for Information

Temporary Superintendent Jamie Henderson said: “This is an extremely tragic case and I know the local community, and those further afield, will be very upset to hear about what has happened.”

He added, “Our investigation is in the very early stages. We urge the public not to speculate.”

Police have set up a cordon around Norman Crescent and ask people to avoid the area while officers continue their work.

Warning Over Social Media Comments

Authorities reminded the public that the Contempt of Court Act applies. Any social media posts that might prejudice a jury are illegal and could lead to prosecution.
