18-Year-Old Arrested After Roof Gun Scare in Southampton
Police have arrested an 18-year-old man tonight on suspicion of possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Gun-Like Weapons Spotted on Store Roofs
Officers were called at 3.41pm today (Aug 29) after reports of two people carrying what looked like long-barrelled firearms on rooftops along Above Bar Street.
Armed police swiftly deployed and launched a thorough search of the area.
Victim Shot in the Leg with Air Weapon
A 21-year-old Southampton man later came forward, reporting he was shot in the leg—believed to be by an air weapon. Thankfully, his injury is not serious.
The 18-year-old suspect remains in police custody as inquiries continue to locate the second individual seen on the roofs.
