Motorcycle Blaze Sparks Police Appeal in Newport

Police are hunting witnesses after a motorcycle went up in flames in Newport in the early hours of November 27. Officers were called to Trafalgar Court, Union Street, following reports of the bike ablaze around 4am.

The fire caused such severe damage that the bike’s exact make and model remain unknown. Investigators are working to piece together how the blaze started.

Passersby May Hold Key Clues

PC Tom Wyld urged anyone who was nearby at the time to come forward. “Firefighters spotted several people walking past while tackling the blaze – probably heading home after a night out,” he said.

“If that was you, please get in touch. You might have seen something that could crack this case.”

Damage Beyond the Motorcycle

The fire didn’t just gut the bike; it also damaged a nearby building and archway. Police want to hear from anyone who spotted suspicious activity around Trafalgar Court that night.

Witnesses can call PC Wyld on 101, quoting reference 44160446985. Those wanting to stay anonymous can ring Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
