Met Police Detective Sacked for Groping Female Colleague
A Metropolitan Police detective sergeant has been booted out after being found guilty of gross misconduct for inappropriately touching a female colleague’s bottom.
DS Christopher Arnold Faces the Axe
Detective Sergeant Christopher Arnold, part of Met Operations, was grilled at a three-day disciplinary hearing that wrapped up on July 23. The panel looked into an incident from July 22, 2021, where Arnold deliberately touched a female officer on her buttock.
The misconduct panel ruled his actions were a serious breach of professional standards, labelling it discreditable conduct and confirming it as gross misconduct.
Commander Slams ‘Completely Inappropriate’ Behaviour
“The actions of DS Arnold were completely inappropriate and his behaviour fell well below the standards expected of a Metropolitan Police officer. He has rightly been dismissed.” – Commander Lou Pudefoot
Following the verdict, Arnold was dismissed without notice and placed on the Barred List. This blacklist, managed by the College of Policing, stops barred officers from working anywhere in policing or related bodies, including the IOPC and HMICFRS.
Met Police Cracks Down to Protect Public Trust
The Met says this tough stance highlights its commitment to high conduct standards and maintaining public confidence in the force.
