Four More Arrested Over Mum-of-Four's Shocking Doorstep Murder

Four more arrests have been made after Joanne Penney, 40, was fatally shot on her doorstep in Talbot Green, Rhondda Cynon Taf, in what police believe may be a chilling case of mistaken identity.

Brutal Shot at Point-Blank Range

Joanne was gunned down after opening her flat door on Green Park block last Sunday evening. The tragic mum-of-four was pronounced dead at the scene from severe gunshot wounds.

Police swooped on four suspects: a 21-year-old woman, a 27-year-old man, a 68-year-old man, and a 39-year-old woman. All remain in custody as the murder probe intensifies.

This follows the earlier arrest of a 42-year-old local man hours after the shooting. Detectives are working round the clock to unravel the horrifying events.

Police Hunt Vehicles Linked to Murder

Detective Chief Superintendent Ceri Hughes revealed two vehicles — a beige Nissan Note and a black Volvo XC40 — traced from Leicester to South Wales on March 9, shortly before the kill.

Both cars have been seized and are under forensic examination. Police are urgently calling for dashcam footage, particularly from commercial vehicles near the Llys Illtyd area and local retail park between 5:30pm and 6:30pm on Sunday.

“We need information about the movement of these vehicles and their occupants. CCTV or dashcam recordings may be crucial,” said DCS Hughes.

Community Shaken by ‘Terrifying’ Killing

Joanne, affectionately known as “Jo”, had recently moved in with a friend. Neighbours described her as quiet and friendly, shocked by the horrific attack.

One neighbour said: “It’s terrifying to think someone could just knock on your door and shoot you like that.”

A close friend called Joanne a “bubbly character” and popular in the community: “We will miss her dearly. I’ll be going down to lay flowers shortly.”

Another resident just two doors away said: “I heard the gunshot while preparing a bottle for my baby. It really shakes you up.”
