Manchester Bombing Death Toll Hits 22: Candlelit Vigil Planned
A somber candlelit vigil is set for Thursday evening at 6.30pm in Guildhall Square to honour those killed and injured in the Manchester bombing horror. The death toll now stands at 22, with 59 seriously wounded – many of them children.
Communities Unite in Grief and Defiance
Families shattered by this terrible attack, targeting innocent music fans, need our support. Organisers urge everyone to come together, regardless of background, to show strength and solidarity.
“We come together, to show unity and to show solidarity at this difficult time,” the organisers said. “It is vital we do not allow the advocates of hate and division to use this atrocity to divide us. This would hand them their greatest victory. Our greatest weapon against hate is unity.”
Bring Candles, Prayers, and Poems
The hour-long event welcomes all faiths and none. Attendees are encouraged to bring candles, prayers, poems, and messages of hope as a symbol of Manchester’s resilience against terror.
Join fellow Mancunians this Thursday at 6.30pm in Guildhall Square to stand strong in the face of tragedy.
