Sex Fiend Logan Doig Jailed for Nine-and-a-Half Years
Logan Doig, 23, has been slammed with a nine-and-a-half year prison sentence after a shocking spree of sexual crimes across Tayside and Edinburgh. The depraved offences, committed between 2015 and 2020 while Doig was aged 15 to 21, include raping and sexually assaulting four women, assaulting a fifth woman, and other non-sexual assaults.
Victims Finally Get Justice After Doig’s Denials
Throughout the trial, Doig denied all charges and shockingly blamed his victims. But the High Court in Glasgow found him guilty of 12 separate offences. He was handed a 12-and-a-half year extended sentence, with nine-and-a-half years to be served behind bars. He is now registered as a sex offender for life.
Judge Brands Doig Remorseless and a Danger to Women
Sentencing took into account guidelines for young offenders, recognising their limited judgment and vulnerability. But Judge Lord Clark was clear: Doig showed no remorse and still denies his crimes. The judge warned his denial makes rehabilitation difficult and sees him as a serious risk to women’s safety.
“In view of the type of offences… your lack of remorse or empathy for your victims, I conclude that you present the level of risk to the safety of women that makes an extended sentence necessary for the protection of the public.” – Lord Clark
Long-Lasting Impact on Victims
Lord Clark acknowledged the devastating, long-term trauma these crimes have caused. He expressed hope the sentencing brings some closure to the young women caught up in Doig’s nightmare.
Logan Doig’s sentence sends a strong message: sexual predators will be hunted down and punished, and justice will be served for victims. Society will not tolerate such vile behaviour.
