Predator Shane ‘Blue’ Gibbs Locked Up for Life

Shane ‘Blue’ Gibbs, 35, a vile predator who drugged and raped multiple women and girls across Sussex, has been slammed with a life sentence. The nomad offender, with no fixed address, was convicted at Lewes Crown Court in November 2024 for attacks on six victims, including four women and two girls.

18 Years Behind Bars Before Parole

On Friday, 14 March 2025, at the same court, Gibbs was sentenced to life imprisonment. He must serve a minimum of 18 years and 299 days before he’s even considered for parole. Justice has finally caught up with the monster.

Horrific Crime Spree Uncovered

Police launched the manhunt for Gibbs after being tipped off on Christmas Eve 2023. Detectives linked him to six brutal attacks from December where he drugged victims before sexually assaulting and raping them. After a relentless search, officers tracked him down at a Portsmouth hotel on 4 January 2024 and arrested him.

Charged With Multiple Brutal Offences

  • Eight counts of rape
  • Five counts of sexual assault by penetration
  • Intentional strangulation
  • False imprisonment
  • Causing actual bodily harm

Though he denied all charges, a jury found Gibbs guilty on all but one rape count. The conviction sends a stark warning to predators everywhere.

Victims Supported Throughout

Every victim has received expert support from specially trained officers during the investigation. Sussex Police vowed to keep fighting for justice and helping survivors rebuild their lives.

“From the moment we were made aware of Gibbs’ offending, we have worked tirelessly…Victims sit at the heart of all of our investigations,”

– Detective Superintendent Ben Newman

“Gibbs was a sexual predator who preyed on vulnerable young women. These convictions send a clear message that we will relentlessly prosecute abusers,”

– Emma Lile, Crown Prosecution Service

If you or someone you know is a victim of sexual violence, report it. The brave who come forward can expect full support and a fight for justice. It’s never too late to speak out.
