Rye Drug Dealer Caught and Sentenced to Over Four Years
A Rye man has been locked up for more than four years in a major crackdown on drug-fuelled violence. Leon Dodson, 25, was handed a 58-month sentence after a string of criminal offences rocked the local community.
Police Raid Uncovers Drugs and Cash
In September 2022, cops swooped on a Rye home in Pottingfield Road amid rising concerns over drug crime. They found drug paraphernalia, around £360 in cash, and multiple mobiles, pointing to a full-blown drug operation.
Violent Stabbing Triggers Bigger Investigation
The case exploded in May 2023 when Dodson was linked to a stabbing at the Queens Head Hotel, where two men were hurt. He was arrested and charged with grievous bodily harm with intent, possession of an offensive weapon, affray, and criminal damage.
Class A and B Drugs Supply Revealed
Further probes uncovered Dodson’s involvement in selling Class A and B drugs, including cocaine and cannabis. New charges followed in October, connected to the earlier raid.
Dodson’s Court Battle Ends in Prison
At Lewes Crown Court, Dodson pleaded guilty to violent offences and drug charges. He received a combined sentence of 58 months behind bars, signalling a strong message to drug criminals in Rye.
