Carer Caught Stealing From Elderly Client in Amersham

A 52-year-old man has been nailed for theft after robbing an 88-year-old he was supposed to care for. Adrian Adam, from George Street, Chesham, admitted stealing cash from the vulnerable pensioner while on duty.

Shameless Theft Over a Week

Between July 18 and July 26, Adam took money from the elderly man’s home, betraying the trust placed in him. The offences came to light thanks to vigilant neighbours who noticed suspicious behaviour and reported it.

Justice Served at High Wycombe

At High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on August 14, Adam pleaded guilty to one count of theft. He was handed a 26-week prison sentence, suspended for two years, along with a 120-hour community order.

  • Ordered to pay £1,000 in compensation for theft and emotional distress
  • £85 court costs and a £115 victim surcharge imposed

“Adrian Adam has pleaded guilty to stealing money from a vulnerable 88-year-old man. I’d like to thank the victim and witnesses who took the time to check on the victim, noticed a pattern of behaviour, and reported it,” said Detective Constable Jags Sekhon of Amersham Investigation Hub. “Thames Valley Police will always aim to protect those most vulnerable in our society and prosecute those who exploit them.”
