Elderly Couple Brutally Attacked in Paddock Wood Burglary
Two Masked Men Break In and Assault Couple
Detectives are hunting for leads after an elderly couple were viciously assaulted during a terrifying burglary in Paddock Wood. The nightmare unfolded at around 8.30pm on 12 September 2020, when two men smashed through patio doors at a home on Chantler’s Hill.
The victims, a man in his 70s and a woman in her 80s, were left battered. The man was pushed to the floor, while the woman was hit in the face with the butt of what witnesses described as an antique firearm.
Jewellery and Cash Stolen in Shocking Raid
The intruders made off with jewellery stolen from the couple’s bedroom and cash taken from the woman’s purse. Both men were masked with balaclavas – one described as tall and heavily built (around 6ft), the other shorter and slimmer.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, taking the victims to hospital as a precaution. Thankfully, both were later discharged.
Police Urge Locals to Check Cameras and Come Forward
The Chief Constable’s Crime Squad is leading the investigation. Officers are canvassing homes and scouring CCTV footage from the area. Detectives are appealing for witnesses to report any suspicious activity.
They also ask drivers nearby to check dashcams and residents to review CCTV or doorbell camera footage that might help solve the case.
