Gym pervert Hernando Ferraro-Cordoba locked up again for targeting teen girls

Ex-assault convict breaks strict gym ban

Hernando Ferraro-Cordoba, 61, has been jailed once more after shamelessly flouting a court order that barred him from gyms and sports centres. The Cambridge man was previously convicted for assaulting a woman at a gym and slapped with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) running until 2030.

Sex offender caught loitering near gyms and preying on teens

Despite the ban, Ferraro-Cordoba was caught lurking near gyms just four months after his release in March. On July 6, police responded to reports of him hitting on teenage girls outside the YMCA, which houses a gym. He was seen loitering in his car, offering alcohol and rides in exchange for sex acts.

  • CCTV footage showed him dropping off three teenage girls at the YMCA.
  • He gave flowers to one girl and asked two others to come to a hotel – both refused.
  • Police pieced together his repeated visits to the gym forecourt despite the ban.

Jailed again after shameless denials

During questioning, Ferraro-Cordoba denied all charges except claiming one girl lied about her age and wanted a relationship. He refused to answer other questions.

At Cambridge Magistrates’ Court in August, he was found guilty of breaching the SHPO by hanging around a gym and breaking Sex Offenders Register rules by ordering a secret bank card.

He was sentenced at Peterborough Crown Court to one year and two months behind bars. His SHPO remains in place until 2030.

Police warn parents to stay alert

“This is a disturbing case of attempted sexual exploitation of teenage girls,” said Detective Constable Andrew McKeane. “We urge parents to be vigilant and remind everyone that breaches of court orders like the SHPO are taken very seriously.”
